You might also want to consider Jokosher. It's pretty easy to use and you wont have to worry about jack and the like.

So, I ended up installing kxstudio-metapackages-audio and kxstudio-desktop-base. I don't know if it's optimal (couldn't help to get Phonon) but everything is working.

There's a Linux port of it called Linthesia. Unfortunately the Ubuntu package for it is totally broken. So I haven't tried it.
