Re: finding a good audio interface
The Apogee One works great with Linux (whatever Ubuntu release I've thrown at it) though of course it does not have the number of outputs wanted by the OP.

Re: Bug report, and question about multiuser an jack
If its an audio driver issue, then what is the recommended workaround to solve people having to manually get audio working again? This JACK resume issue has affected multiple versions and still not fixed. But it looks like I posted this workaround in the wrong thread then. I had to manually kill and...

Re: Bug report, and question about multiuser an jack
I have the same problem when my Ubuntu (13.04) system wakes from suspend and jack doesn't work. But jack always _does work, if, after resuming, I just manually kill all jack related processes that are hanging around after I first exit QjackCtl. To automate this I just wrote this little hook that is ...

Recommendations for MIDI/AUX device to help recording?
Hi Linux Musicians! Just got burned buying a Presonus Firestudio Mobile . I need a replacement to help me record my bass and drum machine for starters and also bandmates, that can do the following - any recommendations? Must haves * interfaces: USB2, MIDI, 2 x 1/4" mic/instrument * works with u...

Re: Presonus FireStudio Mobile (help!)
OK, I hate to say it about hardware but, Presonus Firestudio Mobile, you have me beat. After compiling the latest trunk from ffado and jack, reading up everything on the internet (!) about this particular piece of shi^H^H^Hhardware and spending another valuable 2 hours on this, I'm throwing the towe...

Re: Korg Pandora PX5D
I was thinking by literally attaching it to me or the bass I could change effects anywhere as needed (if I can manage to while playing) devlock76 : it's got a metal body, but It's light enough. It has no clip or any other way of fixing to anything, but the back is flat and mostly free (there is a b...

Firewire howto?
Hi, I'm new here and also new to Firewire on any OS. Was hoping to find a "sticky" Firewire howto. I'm trying to get my Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 laptop to recognize and work with a Firewire connected Presonus FireStudio Mobile. What I'm missing is how to use Firewire debugging tools so I can fig...

Presonus FireStudio Mobile (help!)
It's a neat bit of kit that I just bought at the weekend. And after some research which was a bit wide-eyed to be honest, realising I'd actually focused less on "it does work with Linux" but more on "its just what i want musically, I want it!, it looks like it should work on Linux&quo...

Re: Korg Pandora PX5D
Looking at the spec it looks like it should work as an interface as you say and you can also play the bass and drums via MIDI. Does it show as a MIDI device somewhere? e.g. in Jack? Unfortunately not, in Jack and Patchage I can see the in/out audio on the Pandora but no MIDI. Update: Seems MIDI sho...

Re: Korg Pandora PX5D
Am experimenting at the moment, but no control via Wine or otherwise, yet. what kind of control are you looking for? The SoundEditor software for windows that comes with the PX5D allows editing of the presets, programs and chains etc in a gui. It's more of a "nice to have" than a "mu...

Korg Pandora PX5D
Anyone got this working? http://www.korg.com/px5d It's a very useful effects, drum machine, looping memory and works as a sound card too. I can send audio both ways over USB connected to my Ubuntu 10.04 laptop and 11.04 desktop server. Am experimenting at the moment, but no control via Wine or other...

Can't wait to get started!
Hi, This site is just so cool! Glad I stumbled upon it. # linux and music I'm new to linux music stuff. I just discovered Jack, etc and installed Ubuntu Studio 11.04 (well overgraded from 10.04 -> 10.10 -> 11.04) * Presonus Firestudio Mobile (firewire) * Korg Pandora PX5D (usb) and am trying to get ...
