Better lowlatency kernel one version lower than generic?

Hi, I normally use lowlatency kernel for my music setup. Right now I've got generic 6.2 and lowlatency 5.15 images installed, and I am not sure which one should be better. I'd go for the lowlatency one, but one major version can make a difference, right?

Any help with this?

Alternative to Triple Band Parametric with Shelves

Hi, I posted this in System Tuning & Configuration, but I don't know how to move it from there, so I am reposting it here. I've been using Triple Band Parametric with Shelves from Steve Harris for years. I use it mainly for didgeridoo frequency tuning. I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04 (Lubunt...

Alternative to Triple Band Parametric with Shelves

Hi, I've been using Triple Band Parametric with Shelves from Steve Harris for years. I use it mainly for didgeridoo frequency tuning. I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04 (Lubuntu 22.04 in my case) and it's not working anymore (the bass frecuencies seem to overtake the rest of the range). I'm having ...

Install patchage in Lubuntu 20.04

jack_load and lags after some time playing

Hi there. I am using a Terratec Phase26 Usb with stereo output, 44100Hz sample rate, 256 Frames/Period, 2 Periods/Buffer with no problem. I use jack_load this way: jack_load -i "-p256 -r44100" onboard audioadapter so I can load my internal soundcard, which I use only to monitor my live did...

mixer for jack - mididings not working anymore

Hi there, I've been using non-mixer and mididings to map my midi control to osc for a while, but since upgrading my ubuntu distribution to 18.04 mididings stopped working :(. I cannot find another way to control non-mixer from a midi controller (jm2cv is not compiling in my system) and cannot find a...

Wich distro you would use for an Intel i7-6700HQ

Hi there, I just purchased a MSI CX62 6QD-240XES Intel i7-6700HQ/8GB/1TB/GT940MX/15.6" laptop. I've been using ubuntu for many years, and switched to lubuntu for performance (my old computers were not that powerful). I expect this i7 to be powerful enough to do what I want (live gigs with two m...

Low output signal with terratec phase 26 usb 6 outputs

Hi. I am using a Terratec Phase 26 Usb to play live gigs with my laptop. I am using 6 outputs configuration, so I can monitor two channels and use the other four as individual instruments. My problem is, in every gig I have played my sound technician complained about the low signal received in the m...

Re: good desktop system from scratch

Thanks again for your ideas.

Frank, can you share the specific model of your motherboard and your rack mountable cabinet?

And of your fanless processor cooling system and gamers case, Eino?

tx again

Re: good desktop system from scratch

What about the processor? I'm thinking about a AMD FX Series FX-8350 4Ghz and 8 cores (http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/processors/desktop/fx). I've read intel processors with 4 cores are better (but of course more expensive). Any opinion about it?
