Re: Getting information about the current jack session
OK. Sounds like as I move forward with this I am going to need to create several testing environments eventually to make it more universal. Thank you for all of the input on this.

Re: Getting information about the current jack session
That is what I was starting to figure. For first round proof of concept I will try the xml file to get some info, combined with /proc/asound/cards and a custom config file for this program. The next version will have to implement calls to the api. This really quite a simple helper utility so we shal...

Re: Getting information about the current jack session
I can live with that. Is there a way to get it without going right to the API though. But perhaps better than the conf.xml file?

Getting information about the current jack session
I am making a small utility in golang. No not a wrapper for the jack api at this time. Anyway one of the things I need to do is get current information about a running jack session. I do not see a way to do this from jackd I would prefer not to have to directly call the jack api in this program yet....

Bluetooth MIDI
Specifically the iRig Blueboard. I play bass, and I may be joining a band that does an ampless stage setup. Rehearsing at home I use Guitarix. For stage synths I have a chromebook with debian + kxstudio installed in a chroot with good results for real time stage synthesis. So what I am thinking is b...

Re: Tracktion 6 released
I think what I need to do is go ahead and setup an instrument as a drum map in renoise. Renoise has effect chains per sample so there is a lot of power there.

Re: Tracktion 6 released
Yes, I know, but call that an extra step. Yes I know "le lazy". But unless I actively think about making sure my samples map correctly to the typical GM Drum Map I run the risk of being incompatible with the drum map later. I know it is a minor issue but one I consider between the two. Ken

Re: Tracktion 6 released
There is a new renoise video which shows off the new standalone sampler they are soon to release and I saw someone mention that they could see .sfz support in the video. That means that the native sampler in renoise will also support those files but when it will be release is anyone's guess right n...

Re: Tracktion 6 released
A mention my live rig right now is I play bass and use the I2M to trigger midi notes through a computer. So that is a chromebook + crouton + Debian Jessie + kxstudio. I use NSM to manage the sessions and use sunvox for the synth patches only. Since I can't change midi channels live I just click on t...

Re: Tracktion 6 released
I have used sooper looper and have played with it in a non-session plus carla plus non-mixer for a good live looping scenario. For a live looping setup it could work well but I don't do that much now. I prefer to record midi as loops. I maybe should have specified so I can also clean up my timing is...

Re: Tracktion 6 released
I did, and I am still kind of mixed on it. I try to keep on top of the non-FOSS Linux music solutions as much as possible. I basically have had a never ending issue with finding exactly what I want in one solution, the big thing is loop recorded sequencing in a daw that uses plugin hosts. As in I se...

Re: Tracktion 6 released
ok, I forgot about the static swell thing being unregistered. And I checked the linux tab again and hit the get started here for t5 and see now it is updated to be a combined t5 and t6 license. Sorry haven't done a ton with t5 but my quick checking of the t6 demo it seems much more stable so I wante...

Re: Tracktion 6 released
It´s still beta and free, and registration is still a hard task. @devilock76: Online registration never worked for linux, so use offline registration. For T6 you maybe have to add the license at your tracktion-account. Log in and in the linux-tab push "start here" if selectabel choose: v5...

Re: Tracktion 6 released
I tried to register T6 in the application and like T5 online reg fails. So I went to go get a new key through their website and there is no option for T6. I also tried using my old T5 key and that failed as well.
When I installed T6 I first uninstalled T5. Should I have not done that?
