Re: Scarlett 6i6 - no audio after firmware update

I found that it works just fine on a Arch Live CD. I was not emotionally attached to my OS so I decided to start from scratch. My guess is that I had messy Systemd config launching jack more than once or something of this sort. As mentioned above, it's not worth wasting your life on troubleshooting ...

Re: Scarlett 6i6 - no audio after firmware update

Some time has passed, what has changed? Still not fixed. However: Tweaking power options on Windows did not fix the issue. Following Focusrite Support's advice, I measured DPC lattency on Windows laptop. It is horrible. No surprise though, as this is enterprise hardware, meaning it is destined to su...

Re: Scarlett 6i6 - no audio after firmware update

Still an outstanding issue, but there are new developments and since some folks started pointing others to this topic I thought I will keep you updated. Turns out I have issues with this interface on Windows too. Audio is freezing at random times. Just to remind you, I am using it on Linux Desktop a...

Re: Why people don't like Unity and Ubuntu?

I love Unity. But I also hate it for not being portable. When I tried to install it on Archlinux, half of my system got removed and Unity was very unstable. I missed it very much and with pain decided to go with Gnome 3. I got used to it and now I feel it's okay, but I still miss Unity.

Re: Scarlett 6i6 - no audio after firmware update

Interesting development: I tried using the interface with Ubuntu Studio live cd and it worked. So there is something wrong with my audio configuration. I will try to find out and post here for future reference...

Re: Renoise 3.1 (beta)

They are merging features from their new plugin - Redux. I bought it and I must say I am genuienly impressed. There is a linux native VST for this plugin. I don't think there is a better sampler available for linux.

[SOLVED] Scarlett 6i6 - no audio after firmware update

Hello Everyone, I am trying to bring my Scarlett 6i6 back to life on an Archlinux system. I did my fair share of googling but it seems issues people have with this unit are different than mine... Long story short: It worked out of the box on both Linux Desktop computer and Windows Laptop. I would he...

Re: Ubuntu 12.10 - any testers?

I assume that by random you mean at random systems and not randomly at start on a single system because it never starts on my os. neither 12.04 nor 12.10. Some clues: - ubuntu 12.04 with kxstudio packages (I did not issue a "dist-upgrade" command but installed cadence and of course pulseau...

Re: Ubuntu 12.10 - any testers?

I know Cadence doesn't disable the pulseaudio options when it should (eg, when pulseaudio is not installed). So there's no indication for this yet, sorry. But yeah, you need to install pulseaudio-module-jack for it to work. The failed autostart could be a timing issue, or simply a bug in Cadence. I...

Re: Archlinux - jack2, dbus, cadence and pulseaudio issues..

Funny thing, with "no_app_indicators" cadence starts normally. When I remove this file, it segfaults. I posted output of systemctl status pulseaudio above and it looks like there is no such service? I'm new to systemd though, so I might have done something wrong. I remember setting autospa...

Re: Archlinux - jack2, dbus, cadence and pulseaudio issues..

pulseaudio is not running:
$ systemctl status pulseaudio
pulseaudio.service
Loaded: error (Reason: No such file or directory)
Active: inactive (dead)
and there were no processes to kill. Anyway, why cadence segfaults?
