[Solved] ZynAddSubFX with Midi Controller
Finally got a midi controller and trying to play it using Zynaddsub. Got my M-Audio USB UNO midi cable hooked up with the midisport-firmware installed, but Zynaddsub doesn't play when I hit the keys on my keyboard. Both my channels are set at 1. Little help?

Re: What's best midi player + GM virtual sounds?
I believe fluid-soundfont-gm is the most well-known free GM soundfont. It can be loaded in qsynth. Re: What's best midi player + GM virtual sounds?
I think that Rosegarden + synth plugins (fluidsynth?) is the combo with the most similar functionalities to 'bandstand' (as I can see in youtube). I downloaded the fluidsynth "sound fonts" (as I guess they're called) and they sound great! Just what I'm looking for. I downloaded Rosegarden...

What's best midi player + GM virtual sounds?
Hi, I'm looking for an app that plays midi files and has high-end virtual sounds in general midi (GM) format to use for my band to play extra instruments (strings, sound effects, etc) in the background and for me practicing while I play guitar. I don't want to buy an expensive keyboard or module wit...

Kguitar sound problem
I like Kguitar as a potential Linux replacement for Guitar Pro , but I can't get Kguitar to produce any sound. I installed TuxGuitar also and can get sound out of it (although just from my soundcard and not soundfonts), but I like the look and feel of Kguitar better if I can get the sound to work. C...
