Re: Calf plugin pack silently crashes when attempting to start

I think I've figured it out (sorry about the fuss). I had the "Enable Jack DBus interface" option checked in the Miscellaneous tab, which was -- without warning -- disabling several of the options in the Settings | Advanced tab. One of the disabled options was the server name, which was st...

Re: Calf plugin pack silently crashes when attempting to start

calfjackhost thinks that jackd is not running and tries to start it. Are you sure that jackd is running? Yes. Qjackctl would fail without it. If it's running, does it run with another name (-n ...)? I wouldn't even know how to check. And I'm goddamn sick and tired of constantly using Google as a go...

Re: Calf plugin pack silently crashes when attempting to start

Hmm. To me it looks like it's trying to start its own instance of the jack server, even though it was already running via qjackctl. $ calfjackhost lash_open_socket: could not connect to host 'localhost', service '14541' lash_comm_connect_to_server: could not create server connection JACK error: Cann...

Calf plugin pack silently crashes when attempting to start

Like it says in the title. I'm running a reasonably fresh Fedora 29, XFCE desktop, I'm in the audio group, and Jack2 is running. The application menu shortcut does nothing, so I've also tried running the calf GUI from the terminal, but "calf -v -a" just produces an output that appears nons...

Re: help! -- unprovoked pulseaudio jack conflict

Thanks! I manually deleted the /etc/pulse and ~/.pulse folders to make sure there weren't any bad configuration files left over before reinstalling pulse. Lo and behold, there was yet another hidden folder, which I missed: ~/.config/pulse so I deleted that one too, and repeated the re-installation o...

Re: help! -- unprovoked pulseaudio jack conflict

It just keeps getting better... Pulseaudio somehow misidentifies the USB music keyboard... $ pulseaudio E: [pulseaudio] module-alsa-card.c: Failed to find a working profile. E: [pulseaudio] module.c: Failed to load module "module-alsa-card" (argument: "device_id="0" name=&qu...

Re: help! -- unprovoked pulseaudio jack conflict

Thanks, On fedora they called it "pulseaudio-module-jack", which has kind-of brought things back, but now the jack server only starts about half of the time, and it's the same with pavucontrol. I tried a little workaround, which seems to work for now: I force-started jack (in qjackctl) wit...

Re: help! -- unprovoked pulseaudio jack conflict

I forgot to add that I tried to manually re-add the same settings to /etc/pulse/default.pa, avoiding doubling-up on existing settings, but with no improvement.

"dnf provides module-jack-sink.so" did not come up with any packages for Fedora 27.

help! -- unprovoked pulseaudio jack conflict

Hi! After a long period of relatively trouble-free operation, pulseaudio has suddenly stopped working on my system and I can't seem to figure out what the heck is wrong with it. I did not perform any updates or upgrades or downloads which may have led to the breakage, but I did some general updates ...

Re: unable to start a2jmidid automatically

Hi guys, I'm still having this issue. execute scripts after startup: pactl load-module module-jack-sink channels=2; pactl load-module module-jack-source channels=2; pactl load-module module-jack-sink channels=2; pactl load-module module-jack-source channels=2; pacmd set-default-sink jack_out; /bin/b...

Re: Audacity and Jack -- reliable patchbay connection??

I stumbled upon this old issue again, so I decided to figure it out for connection numbers 1-999:
For odd numbered connections:
out_d*([13579]|[1-9][13579]|[1-9][0-9][13579])$

and even:
out_d*([02468]|[1-9][02468]|[1-9][0-9][02468])$

unable to start a2jmidid automatically

It seems that "a2jmidid -e &" only works if I type it in manually into a terminal, never as a script. It used to work, but no more, and I have no clue what the problem could be. Running Fedora 27 with a recent stock kernel. It doesn't seem to be a Qjackctl issue either because I added ...

Looking for a filter delay line

I've been looking for a JACK-based utility to control relative latency between channels. E.g.: In a digital filter setup I've got bass on 1 channel, midrange on another, and when both channels are playing sound there is some amount constructive/destructive interference, depending on a variety of var...

Audacity and Jack -- reliable patchbay connection??

Audacity keeps renumbering it's Portaudio outputs for some unfathomable reason, and I've been unable to use regular expressions in the jack patchbay to get it working. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=29963 out_d*[13579]$ out_d*[02468]$ Their own advice doesn't work properly. J...
