Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.2 ISO update released!
Maybe one more question about pipewire, how pipewire assign outputs on audio interfaces in AVlinux? I have second interface Motu M4, the interface has 4 outputs ( main 1+2, line 3+4) but pipewire always assign 3+4out like main output. ( I can change with qpwgraph) Other linux distros with alsa, pul...

Re: Pop!_OS Anyone?
I'm using Pop OS. I had to do the usual configurations for real-time audio, but it doesn't give me any trouble after that. Pipewire works out of the box, and Ardour recognizes it as Jack (compatible). That's good to know! I never have time or opportunity to try anything else but Pop OS is on my sho...

Re: yabridge and wine-staging 9.7
Anything you can recommend for glue reverb on the master track or for drums? Verbity is great for snares, haven't used it on a bus yet. I don't know if I can answer that for an EDM use-case... :?: I find for a general reverb that hasn't got too much of a specific character (ie small room ambience o...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.2 ISO update released!
I know its extreme setting, but with jack no problem set this value. Normally I work with 48kHz/4096, but now with pipewire 48kHz/2048. My question is about config file for GUI pipewire Metadata settings. It's just a simple YAD dialog and doesn't really have a config file, if you are handy with cod...

Speak Through Me
Hi, I also posted this at Ardour's forum but I don't know how much cross-traffic there is so I usually post here as well.. Several years ago I saw the Tedeschi Trucks Band for the first time and was impressed not so much by the technical chops of slide guitarist Derek Trucks but how the microtonal q...

Re: yabridge and wine-staging 9.7
sysrqer Curious if you've tried Audio Damage's Eos 2? It is derived from Valhalla and it has some great 'infinite' parameter controls and is usually reasonably priced if you catch a sale.. It's become my go-to for cavernous effects, Airwindows Verbity is pretty unbeatable for smaller ambient verbs ...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.2 ISO update released!
Please short quick how to change settings in Pipewire Metadata Settings? I want to set 4096 frames 192kHz, but gui has max 2048 and 96000 Thankx for your job. What you're suggesting for both of those values would be considered extreme and the PipeWire metadata app in AVL essentially focuses on what...

Re: Pop!_OS Anyone?
I think PopOS is an interesting Distro but probably not optimized for Audio work, that's not to say it can't be improved with some common tweaks but you'll need to read up on them to do them.. If you like Ubuntu why not simply buy a good name-brand laptop (Lenovo, Dell, HP)and install Ubuntu Studio....

Re: yabridge and wine-staging 9.7
I can't say it enough times, if you really rely on Wine for your workflow and you have a version that supports your Plugins, DO NOT blindly update Wine, it now routinely breaks Plugin and WineASIO functionality... There are situations to ride the bleeding edge and there are times to lock versions an...

Re: Everybody has to post something sometime
Hey there, I'm woefully behind down here in the musicians basement and have some catching up to do but glad I didn't miss this! This song is great! Great Indie pop arrangement that doesn't conform to the current anti-competence trend in so much modern Indie. Great sounds, and the lyrics and vocals a...

Re: [ANN] qpwgraph v0.7.0 - A Spring'24 Beta Release
I kind of dread the eventually inevitable switch to Pipewire, but it's great that a qjackctl equivalent is already being developed. That will no doubt facilitate the transition a lot. If you want to visit a working PipeWire Audio setup try a Live boot of the latest AV Linux, not to switch Distros o...
