Re: Audio hats

I haven't done extensive testing with mine yet, but the Audio Injector (surround version kickstarter was posted earlier) is a decent 2 in 2 out hat which can do 128 sample latency without performance tweaking. Its available on ebay or amazon. There is also one with midi i/o that looks promising at h...

Re: Archlinux audio subforum

Speaking personally, I have drifted away from Arch for audio use though it remains my daily use desktop distro. The main reason is that falkTX is just too damn good at what he does (yay falk!) and kxstudio packages provide a much better experience. That being said, I would prefer to see Arch offer a...

Re: Dependency Conflict Issue for KX 14.04 and pd-l2ork

Probably something due to my stk-static package and libstk-dev being in conflict The issue seems to be the dependencies of libstk0-dev, namely, librtaudio-dev and librtmidi-dev, conflicting with the bridges, so apt wants to remove them. At any length, at least I have something to go on for the mean...

Re: Dependency Conflict Issue for KX 14.04 and pd-l2ork

Thanks, that was likely to be my last resort if I couldn't find a neater way to resolve this. The deb could highly likely be broken. So far as I can tell, Ivica is vastly under-resourced to handle the task he has taken on. PD has become a sprawling monster in a lot of ways. There was a ppa for a min...

Dependency Conflict Issue for KX 14.04 and pd-l2ork

Hi I am attempting to install pd-l2ork http://l2ork.music.vt.edu/main/make-your-own-lork/software/ under KXStudio 14.04. There is a dependency issue that is not present with standard ubuntu. The pd-l2ork deb attempts to pull in libstk0-dev, which in turn depends on librtaudio-dev and librtmidi-dev. ...

Re: Linux music as a major player...

Linux Audio focused commercial distro - I can think of at least three commercial Linux Audio distros that have attempted to cover this, with varying success. Studio-to-Go, Indamixx/Trinity, and Studio 13.37. This is not to mention Studio64, which seems to have attempted to become a commercial entity...

Re: Abandonware

Not sure if you are aware, but there is a history involved with Beatrix and the legality of using it's code (http://rg42.org/wiki/beatrix). The result is setBfree (http://setbfree.org/), which your efforts may be an unnecessary duplication of.

Re: Arch Linux set cpu governor to performance

Where do you get your RT kernels from for Arch besides building them? I assumed you were using the AUR for that, in which case you can download the tarball at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/li/linux-rt/linux-rt.tar.gz instead of using yaourt or some other helper. From there you have to: 1. updat...

Re: Arch Linux set cpu governor to performance

I had the same issue a while back, and the only solution that worked for me was to compile the RT kernel with performance mode as the default. It basically involves changing a couple of lines in the kernel config file in the following section: # # CPU Frequency scaling # CONFIG_CPU_FREQ=y CONFIG_CPU...

It's not a plugin unfortunately, but Sooperlooper does have tap tempo when operating in delay mode.

Re: PhaseX situation

I also emailed William two months back and haven't heard back from him, and only after he seemed to stop responding to Github tickets. It's a real shame if he has disappeared again. The new version has some vast improvements over the old one (like much much better CPU usage), but things like broken ...

Re: RME DIGI9652

Is this normal? IEC958 sample rate: undetermined I couldn't tell you I'm afraid. It's not what mine says, but I'm syncing over ADAT and not S/PDIF. One thing you may want to consider doing is changing sync mode to autosync rather than master clock mode. The easiest way I find to change settings is ...

I believe Snap is using the Digi9652 card (http://www.rme-audio.de/old/english/hammer/d9652.htm). This card predates the HDSP cards and uses a different driver so none of the HDSP stuff is relevant.
