Re: RME Multiface hdsp pcmcia/cardbus issues
UPDATE: Multiface + pcmcia works fine on the older laptop running Windows for youtube, system sounds, etc. Totalmix lets me route/monitor inputs fine. As soon as I start up Ardour5 and connect via ASIO or ASIO4ALL audio takes on the bit-crushed sound. MME I didn't quite figure out but it didn't work...

RME Multiface hdsp pcmcia/cardbus issues
So, long backstory short, I was gifted a new-to-me laptop that i'm trying to run my Multiface on so I can have a portable rig. Laptop is a Toshiba Satellite a665-s6094 with a Samsung SSD. I bought the RME pcmcia hdsp card and a Startech pcmcia-to-expresscard adapter. Fresh install of Linux Mint 19 x...

Re: RME digi9636/52 hdsp9652 sample rate issues
Update! I've reached a compromise with the hardware that'll get me through this album. First off, ever since I tried an .asoundrc file to make a big multi-device that didn't work, I've been getting errors sometimes when trying to switch between jack settings, where it says the audio device cannot be...

Re: RME digi9636/52 hdsp9652 sample rate issues
The idea is to be able to funnel the 3 Multifaces (as standalone ada) into one soundcard, either the digi9636/52 or the hdsp9652. I happen to have both available to me right now. I was under the impression the digi9652 is an abbreviated way of saying the digi9636 with the add-on card. I know the dig...

RME digi9636/52 hdsp9652 sample rate issues
So, I thought I'd be slick and snag 3 RME Multifaces to use as converters and then just dump their outputs into one of the 9652 cards to "build" my aggregate 24i/o interface. Well, here's my problem and my problem is simple. There's no way as far as I can tell to change the sample rate of ...

Re: Problems Launching Pulseaudio At Startup
Nevermind... I wrote an actual script, and had autostart run that, specified full dir path. In the past, and actally, concurrently, I'd be able to run something like hdspmixer just by entering "hdspmixer" into the command field (which works), doesn't work with just "pulseaudio" o...

Re: Problems Launching Pulseaudio At Startup
Ok, I'm having a similar issue and would like to add more info to the OP's question. Here's my reason for wanting PA and jackd. For all intents an dpurposes I have 2 soundcards. The stock onboard card, and a couple of RME Multifaces (that act like a single card more or less) for recording work. I wa...

Re: The studio is shaping up!!
No control room, just a big live/mix room. There is a notch at one end of the room that's slightly shorter than the opposite wall. We're thinking of putting a tall gobo on that side to even it out sonically, and make a space for a vocal booth/corner. Control room would be more trouble than it's wort...

Update
Update here... I've got an RME Multiface and a Nuendo Audiolink. here. Finally reinstalled UbuntuStudio 8.04 to get stable realtime functionality. So far it's been pretty dern stable and low latency. I installed jack 0.116.x along side whatever jack version comes with Hardy, and that is working fine...

Re: Syncing multifaces in jack1
Still ends with errors. Getting really discouraged... starting to believe it can't be done. I imagine if it was possible and being done, it'd be big news, somewhere, and I just don't see/hear of anyone doing it. Looking into other possibilities... don't know if this makes sense, but what about routi...

Re: Syncing multifaces in jack1
Haha, no worries, I knew what you were getting at, and the asoundrc has always been my first course of action, but I've definitely looked at that example before and the one in the alsa wiki for the hdsp module, so I'm just going to give that another try. I just want alsa_in and alsa_out to work to s...
