Re: ZynAddSubFX presets

By the way Louigi, maybe you could consider storing whole banks on your site instead of individual patches? It would make things easier for you, especially if people put lots of presets in a zipped folder, which is essentially a bank already, and send them to you all at once. (Like I did for instanc...

Re: Hints and tricks for linux audio software

Zynaddsubfx: This is basic stuff, guess most of you know this, but for those who don't... It's a must for anyone using patches other's have made or creating patches themselves. Create a bank folder for all your patches in your home directory instead of having it down in some stupid read only locatio...

Re: favorite midi sequencer?

Hands down Seq24. It's simple, but it's quick to work with and the piano roll is very nice when you get used to it. A more modern version of seq24 would kick ass, with synth hosting, and improved pattern view (zoomable? :D ), piano roll and song editor. Well, in short, seq24 has potential.

The new zynaddsubfx ui in QT

I just opened some of the .ui files I found on zynaddsubfx's git pages in qt designer. It seems that the new QT ui is practically a copy of the original. Same layout and functionality. I had hoped the UI would be redesigned with new functionality in mind, and not just redone in QT. What do you guys ...

Just uploaded 30 of my presets, the ones who suck the least. Hope to get some criticism when you guys get your hands on them.

Re: Hints and tricks for linux audio software

ZynAddSubFX: If you think your patches sound dull and you want them to sound sharper, you can use resonance in addition to increasing the cut off frequency. Simply create a single, wide dump in the middle. Then tweak C.F, Oct, and max db. You should hear it sound significantly sharper when you hit t...

Yes, I understand very well. I haven't tried it myself actually. I just thought the video was seriously impressing.

Re: ZynAddSubFX presets

While we're waiting, I give you the settings for a patch I made. It's a very nice lead sound. Here's the settings (assuming you start with the default patch) ADsynth global: frequency LFO = 35 C.freq = 127 ADvoice 1: oscilator = pulse mod = PM Mod.Amplitude = 84 Mod.Frequency octave = -8 ADvoice 2: ...

Here's the download link for the vsti:

http://rapidshare.com/files/390081530/Z ... 20beta.zip

In the archive there is a banks folder, where you find both the regular and the extra presets I talked about.

Re: AV Linux 4.0 'Black n' Blue' Released!

I just tried the latest live dvd, and it worked very nicely. Also I approve of having closed source software there, like pianoteq and renoise. It's cool to experience that you aren't limited to free stuff on linux. Also, there's some zynaddsubfx (yoshimi) presets that are bundled with the zyna...

Are ZUI's the future?

ZUI = zoomable user interface by the way. It resembles the way map software works, so the closer you zoom, the more details/functionality you can access. And here's an awesome video showing off the functionality of a ZUI. I mean, now we're talking desktop effects! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_T5m...

Re: will we lose our apps to Mac and Windows eventually??

I'd say it's the general popularity of linux that will have the final say. If people like it, they will develop software for it. And "our apps" is mostly open source, so they cannot really get lost anyway. Anyway, I think it's great to have primarily linux software available on windows, as...

Still more seq24:

Not only can you resize all notes in your selection individually with middle mouse button, but you can resize the whole selection with shift+middle mouse button.
