Re: Software to write Theory book?
I sincerely hope you know that writing the contents of a book requires different skills than creating a publishable result, ... Please do not get we wrong, I'm not tryin to discourage you. Au contraire! But if you're good at writing this theory book it would be such a waste if you got stuck in hair...

All of the above options, however, require knowledge in Lilypond, I you're going for a collaborative effort, the best (only?) option is a Wiki. Flexible, open, controlled, version control, it's all there. MediaWiki has a LilyPond plugin, you can read about it (and see it in action) here: http://www...

Sibelius to LilyPond
For those who may be interested... There are currently two active projects working on conversion of Sibelius scores to LilyPond. Kirill A. Sidorov has constructed a Sibelius plug-in that exports the score to an external document. An associated Ruby program processes the exported document and produce...

Re: Finale vs. Sibelius on Linux :(
... I prefer to compose with immediate aural feedback, Yes, aural feedback would be fine a nice job for a LP frontend. Personally I use LilyPondTool (a JEdit plugin) for editing LP scores. It should not be that hard to add aural feedback. For example, when it does its barcheck, it could play the me...

Re: Jack, ZynAddSubFX and Rosegarden: A Basic HowTo
If, however, your goal is to just create music using Rosegarden and be able to hear it, you can avoid Jack and ZynAddSubFX altogether and use one of the simpler alternatives. Apparently, you've never tried de OOo SVN integration.
Anyway, this question is moot since the job seems to be almost done already. Studio32 and I are currently working on improving the LaTeX (content and appearance).

Re: Translating/vertalen ardour tutorial to Dutch/ Nederlands
I hope I'll get some help from the Dutch speaking members here: ... sciurius ... Having been a pseudo-professional typesetter for some 30 years I would advice not to use LaTeX (yes, I saw your posting :) ). A document like this is likely to be produced in several formats (print, web, wiki), so it n...

Re: Chord Charts
LilyPond provides an alternate set of chord names that are pretty much what you'd like to see. See http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.11/Documentation/user/lilypond/index, appendix B.1 Having said that: if you're happy with MUP, please continue! It is important to use the tools that you feel comfortable wit...
