Re: recording EQ, compressors, etc plugins

I think that the point is to have a "clean" signal before it hits the amp/amp simulation. The point of the preamp/mixer before the interface is exactly that. So, if you put EQ (specially HP/LP) as the first thing in your DI track (or recording bus, as suggested by sadko4u) you should acco...

Re: recording EQ, compressors, etc plugins

Hey guys, thanks a lot again but none of the above works so I'll just stick to the old way of getting a good as possible sound out of my direct box and then I will do the surgery on cleaning up the sound after. Thanks again guys. Also sorry if a lot of what I was saying didn't make sense because of ...

Re: recording EQ, compressors, etc plugins

Well from everywhere I read they always say try to make the source as clean and usable as possible. Even if I plug my pedal amplifier into alive system before the product is delivered the engineer will clean it up. Everywhere I read they Shake that tracking is clean as possible so less work when it...

Re: recording EQ, compressors, etc plugins

Not sure I understand why it would be important that it happens "before" you're tracking. But, if what you want is to "save CPU/memory" by not having so many plugins running later on when you're mixing, you can put in whatever plugins you want in the channel, record the guitar p...

Re: recording EQ, compressors, etc plugins

You maybe could achieve what you want by piping a standalone Guitarix into a DAW track. Great tools for shaping your sound there, including 3-band EQ on the amps. I did tried that before and it completely changed the tone amusing. I'm using a hardware preamp/Power Amp pedal with ir cab simulators. ...

recording EQ, compressors, etc plugins

Hey y'all, just wondering if it's possible to record say a guitar EQ'd like if through a hardware mixer on Ardour, Mixbus, Qtractor, Reaper or any other DAW before being tracked? I've heard that many guitarist would use say a Behringer 3 channel mixer to clean up the sound before tracking so less cu...

xruns(this discussion is not for smart ass remarks, it's to help each other)

OK, I hear that xruns causing audio drops and destroys your recordings, drop outs, etc. I use Drumgizmo and some tracks are crazy busy. I use either Ardour (mostly) or Reaper to record from midi to audio. I get crazy xruns if the drums are doing anything crazy especially in Reaper. Reaper is so bad ...

I removed everything and readded a couple of days ago, and things updated, so that seemed to confirm my thoughts.

I'm going to try and recreate the repo from scratch to see where the problem lies.

thanks milk!

Re: MusE 3.1pre4

Yes an Omni video would be perfect.
I understand the concept but when opened and I'm looking at it that's where the confusion begins. I would try to connect something but the connect button doesn't light up then I will try something else and then it would.

Re: MusE 3.1pre4

A brief explanation of Omni: Omni has no bearing regarding Jack routes. Omni only applies to our own track-to-track routes. That's one reason why I say QJackCtl should have no trouble with MusE. Omni is a convenient way of quickly connecting MusE tracks together 'wholesale' without having to connec...

Re: MusE 3.1pre4

Okay so the synths meter is moving, either we got a nasty bug or this should be possible to resolve. I set up a similar configuration to what you have, although I started jack on the commandline with: jackd -R -dalsa -d hw:0 -r 44100 -p 512 Here's a screenshot over the tracks I created tracks.png B...

Re: MusE 3.1pre4

Hi. Just enough time for a very quick rebuttal: MusE should have no trouble using QJackCtl or similar for making connections. Great care was taken to ensure that. You can use either one to make your connections. If anyone has observed trouble with using QJackCtl, please let me know. Should not be s...

Re: MusE 3.1pre4

Read the ticket again. I can see the meter working when played but no sound. MusE is connected in Qjackctl. Which meter is it that is moving? The midi drumtracks meter should definitely be moving. Next up is the synths meter. This moves if there is sound on the first two outputs. If this moves, Mus...
