Sounds great GMaq! Thanks for sharing.

I'm also downloading the drumkits to test them. Thanks for sharing those too.

Re: Is Rosegarden Suitable for Piano Players?

Hi, What's wrong with MuseScore regarding piano music? It can handle a grand staff and up to 4 voices per staff. Here is an example http://musescore.com/marcsabatella/reunion Here are more examples in different styles http://musescore.com/sheetmusic?part=0&parts=1 Agree with lasconic. You shoul...

Thanks. I already got the Juli@ eXT, but just out of curiosity: Does this model work with ALSA? I don't see it on the list.

Re: Any recommended PCIe audio card?

What's the vender:device from "lspci -n" for the device. So I can examine the alsa code base. Sometimes drivers contain assembly code which is platform specific, and that could be an issue, if it exists for that card. When it does exist, it normally uses the device ID to trigger that sect...

Re: Any recommended PCIe audio card?

Does anyone know if the Juli@ works on the new-ish arm boards that have SATA and PCIe slots? Hi Shadow_7. I'm not sure of this, but I supose it should work. The Juli@ eXT uses ALSA on Linux, so as long as the distro you are using has ALSA drivers installed, it should work. At least in my case it wa...

Re: Any recommended PCIe audio card?

Sorry for the delay, but here's my update. As it turns our, JRR Shop didn't have the card in stock. They did a special order for it, and kept me waiting a couple of months for the card. I finally decided to cancel the order due to the delay. However, I found out that B&H now carries this model: ...

New MuseScore Tutorial Videos in Spanish

Hi everyone. For all Spanish-speakers hanging out on LinuxMusicians: I just wanted to announce that I've been recording some video tutorials based on MuseScore 1.3. All of them are in Spanish. Each video tutorial corresponds to a chapter of a free MuseScore ebook I wrote. You can find the tutorials ...

Re: Any recommended PCIe audio card?

Well, I just ordered a new Juli@ XTe at JRR Shop. Got a $10 discount on my order and free shipping (pretty sweet :D ).

Once I receive and install it, I'll update on my experience with it. Thanks for the recommendations.

Re: Any recommended PCIe audio card?

I noticed there's no mention of it on ALSA Project (it only mentions the Juli@, but not the XTe model). Anyone of you actually have the card running on Linux? Could you share your experience? I know the manufacturer says it's Linux compatible, but it would be great if someone can actually confirm th...

Re: Any recommended PCIe audio card?

I'd be surprised if there were any difficulty at all in USA, and, if I were you I'd start at my local musician's/studio-stuff shop. Failing that, go this ESI Distributor's page and click "buy now" for a list of sources. Thanks for the info. I live in Puerto Rico but have not seen ESI prod...

Re: Should KXStudio repos move to Debian?

I voted yes.

I'm currently an Ubuntu user. But lately I've been a little concerned about the changes Canonical has been introducing...or should I say pushing :? ? It just doesn't feel right...When I decide to move to another distro, I believe Debian would be my first choice.

Re: Any recommended PCIe audio card?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I really need 24 bit duplex, so the Emu 0404 would not be an option for me. Thanks anyway.

Sadly, seems that PCIe sound card support on Linux is still a little behind :( Maybe I'll have to look at those motherboards that still have PCI slots.

Any recommended PCIe audio card?

Hi. I'm considering doing a mayor upgrade to my computer. Until now, I was using an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 and was quite happy with it. However, most of the modern motherboards seem to come with PCIe only; few come with PCI ports. So maybe it is a good time to upgrade to a PCIe audio card I was won...

Re: which usb audio interface?

Hi all! I see that the wiki page at http://wiki.linuxmusicians.com/doku.php?id=alesis_io2_express still says that the only mode possible with the io2 express is 24 bit at 48kHz, although the only link that states that is dead. Is this this still an issue, or does it work at other sample and bit rate...
