Re: Roland GO:KEYS Bluetooth MIDI issues

Those are fantastic command line utils. I was doing all with GUI ones. So, I tried again and... no dice. $ aseqdump -l Port Client name Port name 0:0 System Timer 0:1 System Announce 14:0 Midi Through Midi Through Port-0 128:0 GO:KEYS MIDI GO:KEYS MIDI Bluetooth $ aseqdump -p 128 Waiting for data. Roland GO:KEYS Bluetooth MIDI issues

Hi! I'm back to linux for music, thanks to the ability to run Reaper and EZDrummer3 (not the most opensource life but... they are really good). So, got a Bluetooth MIDI controller, compiled bluez https://mclarenlabs.com/blog/2019/01/15/korg-microkey-air-37-bluetooth-midi-keyboard-with-raspberry-pi/ ...

Re: (SOLVED) EZDrummer 3. Anyone got it to work?

Confirmed. Using it with Reaper. It is almost the reason I went back to do audio on Linux after three years of just using my iPhone with Cubasis.

Re: Keyboards and Linux.

I prefer qjackctl for this 100% with that. Regarding "why jack exists?" It does a few things, very well: 1. Gives you a cohesive interface to connect inputs and outputs. Example: [midi usb keyboard] -> [soft synth zynaddsubfx] -> [daw with effects] -> [soundcard output] 2. keeps things wi...

Re: Keyboards and Linux.

So, been doing music with linux since 1996 with an ISA card that had two simm memory banks! https://retrosoundcards.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/p1010070.jpg and continued until last year when I switched to iOS for mobility reasons. This is my experience on what to do to enjoy keyboards in linux: Fir...

Re: Wireless MIDI in Linux

Just fond the thread looking for something else. In Debian Buster I have it working, but latency is way bigger than my iOS iPhone. I'm trying to debug a decent config so I can use it with the same proficiency than in Apple based OSes

Re: Excessive XRUNS with Ubuntu Studio, jackd and Ardour.

Can you please say why you don't use the diskstreaming feature which should solve the issue of too large RAM requirements? That would solve the RAM problem by reading from disk, but I try to avoid in a DAW, to prevent disk I/O from being a bottleneck. If the linux caching works fine in your case, t...

Re: Excessive XRUNS with Ubuntu Studio, jackd and Ardour.

Hi There, I experienced same issues, which forced my to stick to AVLDrums https://github.com/x42/avldrums.lv2 for a long time. Despite that setup working fine to practice here and there, the sound quality of Crocell (which has a real, decent OpenHiHat and great ride sound) made me give it another tr...

Can you record 4 tracks at the same time with a UMC404HD?

Hi Forum, New to the site. I used jack and the stack for music since a long time, but always with no more than 2 inputs at time. Now I'm considering buying an audio card that can do up to 4 and trying to figure out the most accessible one that could do it right came to the Behringer UMC404HD. So far...
