For small in-between-gaming: greed http://www.catb.org/~esr/greed/ https://screenshots.debian.net/screenshots/000/007/293/large.png Well, there's nethack, but it requires some experience to not die too fast. https://nethack.org/ https://nethackwiki.com/mediawiki/images/b/b4/UnNetHack.png Asciiportal...

Re: Tonelib Jam

Thanks for the hint! I was using tuxguitar before (and also checked GP6 for linux and musescore) but wasn't really pleased by the usability and the jack capabilities. Tonelib Jam is pretty cool and makes it easier for me to work on new songs, although the license is a little odd. I hope it stays fre...

Re: Boss RC-300 loopstation (no audio)

Hi dal and welcome to LinuxMusicians, Thanks for sharing your knowledge. It seems very similar to the problems described here, so I guess you could do the same: just whitelist your usb device id. Technically, I will have a closer look at why all the Roland USB devices got blacklisted in the first pl...

Re: OSC software

Hi and Welcome to the forums! Good question, I didn't know tidalcycles until now (will check it out), but here are some suggestions you might try: ⋅  Open Stage Control: https://osc.ammd.net ⋅  There is also TouchOSC for Android, if this is an option: https://play.google.com/stor...

Re: Guitarix release 0.36.0

Thanks for the reply! Questions if you don't mind: 1. Plugin or standalone? Plugin (or at least trying). Ok, so first try getting any sound IN/OUT Reaper, then try it with the plugin. 2. Reaper new-track-with-plugin defaults to midi. Are you saying i should select MIDI? Even though I'm not using MI...

Re: Boss RC-300 loopstation (no audio)

Permanent solution Well, this depends on your distro ("your installation") etc. AFAIK you would have to recompile your kernel on every kernel update. Maybe something advanced like kernel live patching, not worth the effort... For my setup I just compiled the kernel with the patch included...

Re: Boss RC-300 loopstation (no audio)

Ok, sorry, Would have been too easy... As much as I would like to come around with a proper patch (getting into the kernel source without going crazy  and testing on several devices), there must be a reason for this "false" behaviour, especially the add_sync quirk for all devices wi...

Re: Boss RC-300 loopstation (no audio)

To keep the thread alive... Just wanted to say that the same approach works for the BOSS GT-1!! According to Drumfix's patches, I changed the USB ID in sound/usb/pcm.c to be skipped like this: ... case USB_ID(0x0582, 0x01d6): return 0; ... THANKS! Now it works with input and output up to 192kHz Syst...
