Re: AV Linux MX-21 Edition RC2 for Testing uploaded.

Super Super Great System! Many many thanks for that! Not fully explored all yet, but had only good first impressionss! easy to install, cool design, ffado and firewire not on board (focusrite saphire) but doesn‘t matter, they where fast installed with synaptics. had to guess between firewire1 or 2 b...

Re: KX Studio at the End of Standard Support - what now?

You can take any distribution if it includes the KXStudio repositories ( https://kx.studio/Repositories ) / packages (for example https://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/x86_64/carla/ , https://gpo.zugaina.org/media-sound/carla , ...). See for example here: GNU/Linux Debian installing >> Linux...

Re: KX Studio at the End of Standard Support - what now?

recently upgraded my 16.04-based Ubuntu installation with KXStudio repos to 18.04-based. no major problems so far, even wine (which was the most troublesome when i tried to upgrade a year ago) works. can't say anything about DE though, because i don't use KDE/Neon, using LXDE instead. is it better ...

Re: is Hydrogen better than Ardour for drums

Hi, Sometimes I question myself why advanced MIDI editors can´t be used like plugins in advanced DAWs. Eg.: Edit and store MIDI in Ardour but with the GUI of Musesore or Frescobaldi or the Piano Roll of your choice. Same principle like text editors work in webpages. Yea, it´s a concept thing. That w...

KX Studio at the End of Standard Support - what now?

Dear Linuxicians, I used KX Studio for about the last 3 years and it worked so fantastic good, it was such an inspiration in its possibilities and it still helps me digging deep into music (and not too much in linux) allmost every day. But now updates are rare, some still come allong - sometimes ......

Re: Black Pearl / Red Zeppelin Midi Channel Question

GMaq,

Thanks for that hint! That works nice and it´s clearly arranged!
Me thougt it´s enough to change the channel in settings default plugin gui of carla and the host manages the midi broadcast

@michael Thanks for the link! nice plugins not on board of KX

Cu !

[Solved] Black Pearl / Red Zeppelin Midi Channel Question

Hi Linuxmusicians, I wanted to set up a multisoftsynt enviroment with yoshimi, Red Zeppelin in Carla, qsampler, amsynt and maybe some otheres more. My idea was to address each softsynt/sampler on its own (before specified) midi channel, so i can switch in beetween from my good old LMK3 Midi Piano. I...

Re: BackupBand 0.C

If none of the songsheets are being shown in the list, that means backupband can't find them on your hard drive. Are they in your home folder in the following directory? BackupBand/Styles/Songs Yes, they´re in the right place... maybe they are damaged because of unzipping. I´ll try to download all ...

Re: BackupBand 0.C

The songsheet is a binary format, so you can't create/edit them with a text editor. You have to wait for the next BackupBand version which will contain the "songsheet creator/editor". (I'm working on it right now). And that's why there's no docs on how to do it. It's not finished yet. Ok,...

Hello I tried to open the files with kate and it gives out that warning: The file /home/precision/BackupBand0C/BackupBand/Styles/Songs/12 Bar Blues was opened with UTF-8 encoding but contained invalid characters. It is set to read-only mode, as saving might destroy its content. Either reopen the fil...

Re: BackupBand 0.C

Hello j_e_f_f_g , Thank you for that great piece of software!!! For me as a bassist it was the missing link in the linux software landscape for performing and studying music very smart. I often read and study sheet music - most of the time melodies or basslines - and my problem was that i never got ...
