Re: Focusrite Saffire LE

In case anyone else does hit similar, I find that the ffado-mixer's faders do give me direct monitoring but only when jackd is running and then only with a sample rate of 44100 or 48000. Any higher and I get nothing and I don't know why. Still, it's better than nothing! My next (and hopefully last) ...

Focusrite Saffire LE

Hello, I've seen quite a lot of people on here using various USB based Focusrite Scarlett interfaces, but has anyone successfully used the firewire connected SaffireLE ? With the addition of FFADO on my Fedora build, I've eventually got it working for the most part with jackd and am able to do all I...

Re: Boss Micro BR-80

That's a lot of missing stuff. Still looks like a mismatch of some source/header file or something to me. Did you check the symvers file was for the right kernel?

Re: Boss Micro BR-80

Singforme, Not sure if I had that symbol error myself. If I did it was probably when I used the wrong Module.symvers file... are you definitely using the one from the kernel source you're compiling for? Did you get no errors at compilation time? I'd definitely look at dmesg and/or /var/log/messages ...

Re: Boss Micro BR-80

Had a (very) few more clicks than I used to but then I'm also on a new os/kernel/DRAW/jack version, plus using a rather temperamental guitar and even with all that it's only been the odd one - not enough for me to even fully look into whether it's getting recorded yet or if it's just a playback/moni...

Re: Boss Micro BR-80

Singforme, yep, not too tricky - it's basically the same steps as you did last time to compile a new version of the snd-usb-audio kernel module (the ones on http://org0ne.livejournal.com/29979.html ), but instead of changing the quirks-table.h file (I left mine completely alone this time), you need ...

Re: Boss Micro BR-80

singforme, In case it's still of any interest, thanks to Drumfix, I've now got my BR80 working on the new kernel. The details so far are on the the similar thread for the Boss RC-300 ..... https://www.linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17180&p=83958#p83958 but basically he identified som...

Re: Boss RC-300 loopstation (no audio)

Drumfix, Interesting. I won't pretend to fully understand - I'll have to get a bit more familiar with the USB spec and have a few more reads of the code - but I'm getting there so thanks for the explanation. For reference, given that I know the change worked with a full kernel compilation, I then sp...

Re: Boss RC-300 loopstation (no audio)

Drumfix. Well, colour me impressed, with a side-order of grateful - that seems to work! I've had playback through aplay and I've had jack connected and recorded/played back through Ardour! I'm probably going to remove all the experimental kernels I've built up, download the latest kernel source and ...

Re: Boss RC-300 loopstation (no audio)

hello, Great minds - rather coincidentally, I decided to try monitoring USB traffic myself on the BR-80, so it's interesting to see this here too. I know it's not the same hardware, nor the same approach (Linux vs Windows drivers suggested, below, where I'm just linux) but, given dormirj is busy and...

Re: Boss Micro BR-80

oh and ignore the duplicated ".data = (const struct snd_usb_audio_quirk[]) {" line in the my_quirk file - bad copy/paste that I sorted when I tried it for real.

Re: Boss Micro BR-80

The jack setup I always used to run was: /usr/bin/jackd -dalsa -dhw:BR80AUDIO -r44100 -p1024 -n3 -D -Phw:2 which came from a combination of qjackctl fiddling and the man page and in the end was clearly quite basic - and probably had some mistakes and redundant options (and a probably needless mix of...

Re: Boss Micro BR-80

singforme, Interesting that jack ran - it hasn't for me. The lack of sound could be one of the jack settings? Or have to do with your jack routing to whatever application you're using to play the sound? I never got those livejournal instructions to work for me but that quirks file, used in a full ke...

Re: Boss RC-300 loopstation (no audio)

argh, yes - with the br-80, if I stop pulseaudio (got out of the habit after a while of that making no difference!) the "unable to change format on ep ..." messages no longer come up (at least on this particular version of the quirks file!) and the device appears to be recognised as 'norma...

Re: Boss RC-300 loopstation (no audio)

dormirj, Not claiming any expertise (especially given I'm still failing to get my BOSSBR-80 working!) but I think that, other than the text name bits, you should just need to change the vendor id and product id to match the values in your lsusb output... looking at your file, it would be the 0x0582 ...
