Aha! I just tried the inxi —graphics command and it gives a much better output than lshw. “Driver:n/a” “unloaded:Radeon” haha I’m getting somewhere already

Re: AVLinux Sudden Black Screen
I’ve been digging a bit deeper today and I found that the drivers aren’t being loaded. I used lshw -c display which returns a message that shows there is no drivers for video. Also by running radeontop it says there are no Amd gpus. I went and reinstalled all the associated drivers but weirdly it ha...

AVLinux Sudden Black Screen
Hope this is the right forum to post this problem. I’ve been using AVLinux (mx21) on a new build I share with my son and all things were running very well for a long time when suddenly my son tells me the screen went black and will no longer boot. I asked my son what happened exactly beforehand and ...

Re: High end audio interface
I just want to add that I am a proud user of RME, using an original Multiface connected to their original pci interface card. The rest of my setup is pro workstation, my workflow involves multiple effects while recording live. I chose them because I desire very low latency and at the time I was scou...

Re: Does anyone use a trackball mouse?
Trackman Marble FX is the most ergonomic trackball I’ve found. It’s been discontinued for a long time and fetches a serious price, but it has a very natural and pleasing feel.

Re: Midi Sysex Failure? Kawai K4
Hey thanks for the reply! I started with amidi but then read this: amidi handles only files containing raw MIDI commands, without timing information. amidi does not support Standard MIDI (.mid) files, but aplaymidi(1) and arecordmidi(1) do. Since the Kawai sysex file is .mid I have been trying to us...

Midi Sysex Failure? Kawai K4
Hey Gang! I've had this old kawai k4 midi keyboard laying around for quite some time, and I started messing with it. At first it needed some cleaning and jiggling but eventually it came around and started producing sounds.. it needed a new battery which ends up deleting all factory preset sounds. I ...

Re: AVLinux 2018 and UEFI
Okay I have actually got a boot into the liveusb using uefi. Here’s what it looks like when I click on any of the boot options: https://s33.postimg.cc/nez5rsx2n/F8_DA3_DD9-33_A3-48_E3-_A93_F-_DC2_FC48_BF88_C.jpg It’s just a black square over top the options. After about two minutes it will actually ...

Blue Snowball not working with Non-Daw/Carla
Hi, I'm having no luck recording with the Blue Snowball USB mic when using it within non and carla. So far I've tried a few things like verifying it works within osx, and checking if pulse and lsusb see the mic. They do and it does work on mac. However, I cannot get it to capture sound on non-timeli...

Guiatrix Background Noise
Hey guys! I'm hoping this wonderful community can help with my noise level in Guitarix... I have a constant hum in the guitar sound, almost like a 120hz hum in a tube amp, and I can't seem to get rid of it. I have tried multiple pickups through it with the same noise sound coming through, I've tried...

Re: AV Linux 2018... what kernel do ya want for default??
I'd like to see the low latency please.
I'm buying a new hard drive and want to install AVLinux on it, can I do that now and update to your new 2018 easily or is it better to wait for the 2018 to start fresh?
