Re: Q re USB audio interfaces

Those "T-shaped" jacks are actually combo jacks so you can also plug in a ordinary 1/4 guitar plug there right in the middle.

Re: Absent friends....?

So this makes me sad. I'll be missing Jeffg. He's been around here like "always" He's been a great contributor to the linux-musician community, lots of sample editing works. I'll be missing his posts. I'll be missing his sense of humor. I'll be missing his way with words. I'll be missing h...

Re: How To Write Music: Gatekeeping

Interesting talk. Thanks for posting.

Some comment I read nearby reminded me of Ricky Gervais commenting on twitter, you know, the guy who finds an ad for guitar lessons and calls up the number to tell the guitar teacher he doesn't want any lessons.... https://youtu.be/uEawbnXaIDs Hilarious :-)

Re: Scarlett 6i6 monitoring

Hi Crustypants

I believe this is what you should be using https://github.com/geoffreybennett/alsa-scarlett-gui to turn off input monitoring.

There is also a thread over here viewtopic.php?t=23272&start=105 for further reading.

Re: any AI drum software?

In an ancient time on a different platform I used to almost depend on Jamstix https://www.rayzoon.com/index.html. It is said to be able to run under wine but I've never found the energy to get into all that jazz.

On another note I am all for Human Intelligence.

Re: Trouble with SooperLooper compilation/execution on Raspberry Pi

I dont know if you are aware of it but there is a simplified version of the sooperlooper for the modduo which
also is found in the modep project. https://blokas.io/modep/
https://github.com/BlokasLabs/modep

I dont know what you can make of it just thought I should mention it.

Wolf Shaper waveshaping plugin

Unfa just presented a new waveshaping plugin called Wolf Shaper in his vlog https://youtu.be/2NViimz9Tnw.

Its made by Patrick Desaulniers and can be found here: https://github.com/pdesaulniers/wolf-shaper

I have not tested it myself yet but it sure looks interesting!

Maybe send the output of the recording track to a bus (instead of to the master) Set the bus fader to zero.

I think that's a very good idea.
Availability is needed for the linux world to flourish.

I believe there is a difference between viewing sharing as sharing and sharing as trading. The latter is in my view more like.... wait for it.... trading.
