Re: USB Audio input works with Audacity but not with Ardour/JACK
Thank you I tried both, but it didn’t work out. Running Ardour with ALSA, I could record through the bass amp but I had no audio output available. I set the JACK settings to the bass amp (@bluzee did you mean this?) but still get no input from the amp through JACK. It’s not so much of a problem, I k...

USB Audio input works with Audacity but not with Ardour/JACK
Hello, I have Ubuntu Studio 20.04.1 running on my computer, and I have a Fender Bronco 40 bass amp with an integrated USB audio interface. Using Audacity, I can record my bass with no problems at all. In Ardour, however, there is no signal in the "capture" lines. Ardout works with JACK, so...

rosegarden/jack latency issue
Hello, Trying out Rosegarden, I have a problem with latency (at least I think that’s what it is). When I record some audio tracks, they are about 70..100 ms out of time, related to each other. With Ardour, I don’t have this problem - here the sync inaccuracy between the tracks is about 2..3 ms. I’d ...

Re: timidity/rosegarden: more than one soundfont possible?
Thank you Pablo, QSynth did it.
QSynth is just a GUI and the actual synthesizer is Fluidsynth, is that right?
Thank you also for the hint to /etc/lsb-release, that does the job. (Also in Ubuntu Studio)

timidity/rosegarden: more than one soundfont possible?
Hello, I just started to try Rosegarden since I want a recording software that can combine sequencer and audio tracks in the same project. Up to now, I had no issues, but a question: I use timidity as MIDI server, and I found out how to use a different soundfont: in /etc/timidity/timidity.cfg, I rep...

safety problems?
Hello,
when I went onto this site (http://www.linuxmusicians.com) right now, I got a safety warning (see screenshot). Does this mean something important?

Re: Linux Mint: Jack cannot start (it did work, then failed, now broken)
Ok, I ran puppy linux 5.7.1 on my computer, and jack worked with no problems.
Would it make sense to take the jack configuration settings from the puppy linux version to linux mint?

Re: Linux Mint: Jack cannot start (it did work, then failed, now broken)
something is wrong with the soundcard, it doesn't want to start. is it a usb one? I'd check the cables... Can you see this in the data I posted? The soundcard is onboard. When I start the computer, I can play media with VLC, and watch youtube videos with chromium. Sound is ok, no problem. Only when...

Linux Mint: Jack cannot start (it did work, then failed, now broken)
Hello, I recently changed from Puppy Linux to Linux Mint 17.3. I installed Ardour 4.6, and I also installed invada-studio-plugins-lv2 and caps-lv2 plugins. The first time I ran it, ardour worked, but then, suddenly, the sound was completely gone, not only in Ardour but all over the system. I got the...

Re: JACK does not start
thank you bluebell, in the meantime I solved the problem with a complete system reinstall. Now it works. But I keep your post in mind - however, these commands were generated automatically by qjackctl

JACK does not start
Hello, I'm running precise puppy 5.7.1, and I want to use Ardour 4.6.0 with JACK. This combination worked well on my computer until I had to do a complete reinstall of my system. Now I installed Ardour and JACK, but when I try to start JACK (with qjackctl), I get the following error log: 12:09:13.19...
