Re: Why Guitarix factory presets so awful and loud??

And we learn again "Don't follow the hipsters". New languages and frameworks come and go. If they don't vanish then new "hip" features make newer versions incompatible to older versions. Hipsters give a shit if users of their stuff have to maintain their projects. Change, change...

Have you tried removing the "snd-dice" module? Is it loaded?

Re: Harrison Mixbus offers

Is the eq usable outside of mixbus? I couldn't see anything clear about that in their info. Keep in mind that AFAIK you can't download it — they will give you the license and tell you that the plugin is already in Mixbus. I use Ardour, which comes with the unregistered plugin. I copied the license ...

Re: Is there a way to route individual audio channels in qjackctl patchbay?

Ah, my bad. I never used the patchbay before, and I don't have an access to my Linux computer right now.

Have you seen this guide? http://www.rncbc.org/drupal/node/76 It shows how to make the connections between channels in the patchbay.

You should be able to expand the application and see the individual channels in qjackctl; see this example screenshot: https://i.stack.imgur.com/OGfOq.png

Re: OpenDeck DIY MIDI platform

I've been searching for years for a replacement to my aging BCR2000 and in the end settled for an Akai Midimix.
Have you seen the MIDI Fighter Twister? Not as many knobs as the BCR2000, but has infinite encoders with RGB LEDs, and in my opinion is more reliable than the BCR2000.

Re: 8-bit Treats from Tracktion

I had the same problem with fonts, and I solved it by installing TTF fonts from MS (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ttf-ms-fonts/ in Arch).

Re: Essential information for new users

Hi, Don! I've been experimenting with the Raspberry Pi for music, and I would love to help. When you say "Selection and programing are the issues", what do you mean? Do you mean selecting a drumkit preset, or programming the patterns? How are you planning to work with hydrogen, playing liv...

Recording jam sessions with the Pi

I did a small Raspberry Pi project called "JellyJamPreserve". It uses the Jack Timemachine to record audio on the toggle of a switch. It continuously records audio into a 5 minute circular buffer, and when the switch is turned on the buffer is dumped to a file and it starts recording audio...

Re: Software For Referencing My Song & LANDR-Mastered Song

You can use Ardour for that.

Put audio file A in one track, and audio file B in another track. Make sure "Exclusive solo" is selected in the preferences. Now you can press play and solo the track you want to hear, the other will be muted.

I like the plugins from https://www.overtonedsp.co.uk/, I use them on drums and on my master channel.
