[SOLVED] Help with Qtractor connections

I'm trying to record midi tracks in Qtractor. While I can record and playback, I cannot hear the "live" instrument being played as it's being recorded. Complete silence. On Qtractor's midi connection tab, I've got my keyboard out connected to Qtractor's master in. And Qtractor Master out t...

Re: Rosegarden: "Out of processor power for real-time audio processing. Cannot continue."

Thanks for the quick replies. Looks like you guys were right - it seems to have been a plug-in. I had Gverb on two of the audio tracks. Once removed it now makes it to the end. And just to test a little, I've temporarily loaded all of the audio tracks down with multiple other plugins... enough to so...

[SOLVED] Rosegarden: "Out of processor power for real-time audio processing. Cannot continue."

Hi Guys. I've been working on a composition in Rosegarden. I have 12 tracks total, most aren't very full. Half are audio & half are midi. I'm nearly at the halfway point of having a 3 1/2 minute long song completed. However, when I play what I have so far, or try to record more, this error pops ...

Re: Odd response from forum search box

I second that "annoying". More than that actually. As it is, the search feature is crippled because of this. If I have a question that is specific to a program such as Rosegarden, I should be able to search all relevant posts that contain the word "rosegarden" . As it is, "r...

Re: Please help with software choices- getting discouraged.

OK, I've made a little time to try to figure this out, but am nearly ready to fork out the $80.00 for Harrison Mixbus.... (which I appreciate the suggestion). At this rate, I'm not sure if that would even simplify things enough for me to get a grip on. But seriously, I would love to be able to get m...

Re: Please help with software choices- getting discouraged.

As it sounds like Ardour4 is the way to go: I've just made a contribution, downloaded and installed Ardour4. Very limited time to play with it before heading off to work. And yes, I am using Jack ..... figuring out the connections can be a real task - especially now with Ardour4. So it looks like I'...

Re: Please help with software choices- getting discouraged.

Hi sysrqer,

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess it's version 3 (ardour3 on the command line to fire it up.) So it sounds like I'll need to learn how to upgrade that. My distro is Peach OSI with a low latency kernel.
I'll give Qtractor a go as well. Thanks.

Please help with software choices- getting discouraged.

Hello everyone, I've recently dusted of my guitars and wish to get back into writing & producing a little music.... and so the journey begins of learning about Linux audio. My basic set-up is an M-audio keystation for the midi controller & a Behringer U-phone for piping in the guitars direct...
