Re: Ardour - support only for official builds?
And you believe that's a useful contribution to this discussion? Yes, I'm pointing out a problem with this thread that a personal attack on developers sparked a discussion. If someone spits my friend's face, I don't say "well maybe they have a point, my friend doesn't take the trash out all th...

Everyone talking about the state of the bug tracker are just validating the initial uncalled for hostility toward one of the most active linux music apps.

Re: Ardour - support only for official builds?
The developers have put years of effort they put into an extremely power piece of software that everyone here can get for free. In addition to this, they offer a support option if you pay for the official builds. They don't *owe* you support (that's written into the GPL), but they offer it under the...

Re: VST3 SDK finally GPL'ed!
I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure it's the GPL itself that (intentionally) only restricts distribution, not use. See for example https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.en.html#NoDistributionRequirements . Hmm, I wasn't able to find a clear answer on the Internet. It's the interesting case. I'm pr...

Re: [ANN] Zynaddsubfx 2.5.3 - The "Chiron" Release
Could I casually mention a bug here? Now the VST plugin is officially supported I feel I should mention that it does not save any data with the host, so open a new project, load zyn vst, choose a patch or make your own, save the project in the host, reopen and zyn goes back to default. This sounds ...

Re: New Free Synth - Helm - Now in Beta
Apologies if this question has been asked and answered before but is there a way to resize or set the size of the Helm GUI? For some reason in both standalone and LV2 mode it's massively oversized on my 1920x1080 monitor (too large to fit on the screen) and I haven't yet found a way to reduce the s...

Re: New Free Synth - Helm - Now in Beta
Helm 0.6 is out so I'm digging up this thread! You can grab the build here: http://tytel.org/helm There are a lot of changes in this build including performance improvements, a mixer, a third envelope, a graphical keyboard, and bug fixes. I had to make some changes that might (unfortunately) change ...

Re: Congratulations to Matt Tytel & Helm !
Thanks for the support everyone! I talked to Brian from the one synth challenge a while ago about featuring Helm when it got more stable. There have been pretty breaking issues (especially on 64 bit Windows) and some performance problems on all platforms. I'm about to come out with a new version tho...
