I have just installed MusE3 on a Debian system with KXStudio repositories but I cannot see the Calf Instrument plug-ins when adding a synth. On a similar Linux Mint system the instruments are visible. Has any one else had this issue?

are you using JACK? What distro? I'd guess the default behavior when run from a menu is that its set to jack mode, from console alsa mode. If you aren't familiar with jack, I'd reccommend doing so. I have been trying to use Yoshimi with Rosegarden but have found I can only access it as a midi instrument when I start it from a terminal. Is this usual behaviour for such synths?
