Re: Your first DAW !
Many years ago, I used Cubase on an Atari ST. I had borrowed a Yamaha DX 7 from the computer club at my work. From that computer club is also were I got a hacked Cubase from. Cubase back then needed a dongle, but not this version. Back then some people had paid for Cubase, but because of the dongle ...

Re: Ardour headache
Maybe I should try those too. Can they time stretch though ? That's how I ended up with Ardour. An American who can play guitar and want me to add drums to his guitar play. I am starting to understand why I struggle so much. I have a problem, google it, think I found the solution, but then the expla...

Re: Ardour headache
Baby steps, I have my midi controller showing in Ardour. 8) Off course it does not produce sound yet. :( Seems I need to do some routing. Ardour is driving me nuts still, but I will get it all working. Watching some you tub vids on how to connect a midi keyboard. I am not having fun, I never would h...

Re: Ardour headache
I made a bit of progress. (after some studying of the routing in Ardour) Started a new session, picked empty template. Then added a midi track and selected the red zeppeling drumkit. At first the kick drum at C2 did not seem to produce sound, but I seem to have fixed that. (don't ask me how though) ...

Re: help needed, is my music repetative ?
Yeah Grandmaster Flash and the furious 5 had a message (pun intended). It was not about bitches and money. I still think I made something catchy but my duality tracks does needs work. :) A common problem when I work on a track, it gets drilled into my mind and I like it. Then when I let the track re...

Re: help needed, is my music repetative ?
The feedback I got on the duality track nearly made me quit. After giving it a rest for months, and just listening to it again, the person from the LMMS judges does have a point, even though I suspect he does not like house (edm) music. Although there are minor changes during the track, most ...

Re: Ardour headache
I switched Ardour to jack. (from alsa) And it just works, no errors or complaining  To be clear, I am running pipewire, but have jack installed. Now I can at least hear unfa on you-tube with Ardour open. :) I am tempted to uninstall hdmi. More serious I am gonna look if I can disable i...

Re: Ardour headache
Thank you and again Ardour surprises me. On the bright site, unfa replied to a comment of mine on you tube. Coming from LMMS, for now Ardour is driving me nuts. It totally works different. Thanks for this vid. 🙂 unfa🇺🇦 I felt the same way when I went from LMMS to Ardour :D (it was Ardour 2 at the ti...

Re: Ardour headache
First thing which comes to mind is which soundserver you use? (in general, and which one for ardour). This way or that way i try to change it in ardour menu -> Window -> Audio/Midi setup (for a running session, for a new one pick the option you didn't pick yet). (as far i understand the ardour IRC ...

Re: Ardour headache
Are there any opensuse users here, who do have the gui of that drum kit showing? I assume you still speak about the LedZeppelin Drumkit 1) you create a new midi track and in the pop-up window you choose LedZeppelin as the "Instrument" 2) if LedZep doesn't show among the midi Instruments, ...

Re: Ardour headache
clicking on various instruments of the kit you get them sound and safe, though caution 'cause you may get addicted for it's kinda exhilarating. Yeah, try that with two mice! And a drink so you see two pointers. This makes me wonder, if I need a midi drumkit. 8) https://www.gear4music.nl/nl/Drums-an...

Re: Ardour headache
Thank you and I will have a look at it. I do hope its a pebcak error. For now I am totally hating Ardour. Nothing seems to work in a way I am expecting it. But first lets focus on why I am not seeing the RedZep plugin GUI. I also hope this feeling about Ardour will go away soon, because I still thin...
