Hey, this sounds great. I'd also be delighted to exchange some ideas.
Is this a regular meeting? Currently, I am not often in Berlin, but will be living there soon.

Olu & The Vulture
Here are two things we recorded and edited on Linux (Ardour on Ubuntu Studio). The mastering happened elsewhere, but at least within the unixoid family

Re: kxStudio & Tascam US122
It turns out that I get exactly the same error messages in jack, if I do not initialize the device at all. But it also turns out, that if I use the device through ALSA in Ardour without Jack, it works just fine! (This used to not be the case: this configuration created bad distortions a few days ago...

Re: kxStudio & Tascam US122
No, no pulseaudio seems installed. It also shouldn't be in a fresh kxstudio install, right?
How can I see what program is using my soundcard?

kxStudio & Tascam US122
I am trying to use an old Tascam us122 on the current kxstudio release with a Thinkpad x230, but the setup seems to malfunction. On the older release I was able to use it, as well as on several Ubuntu-Studio releases since Ubuntu 8.04. I have tried to install the drivers in various ways: first by ha...

Re: Linux Audio and MIDI
Thanks, this helped with the lag.
As for the rest, I am making progress, slowly. So maybe I'll get there one day. At the moment I am waiting for the next version of Musescore, which will have polyphonics fixed.. and next is getting vst instruments to run on wine..

Linux Audio and MIDI
I'm not sure, whether I am posting this in the right category. I am making another attempt to get Linux Audio work for me, but I am stuck. I want to use my System (currently a Thinkpad x230) for 1. Audio Recording, Mixing, Mastering, both portable and in my home-studio. 2. Midi Recording and editing...

MuseScore 2.0 polyphonic
I have not tried MuseScore in a long time, and was very pleased that the current version does now support entering several notes at once when editing step-by-step. However, polyphonic playing seems to stop when I switch off the editing mode (N-Key). Is there a way to keep playing polyphonic when not...

Re: Restarting Linux & Music
Thank you, this is interesting. I don't need bleeding edge software. And for core functions I prefer distributions that have a large base of developers, so I can hope they are still around in a few years' time. Do you have an idea how AVLinux and KXStudio are doing with regard to this, also in compa...

Restarting Linux & Music
Hi everyone, I still feel like a rookie with Linux and music and I'd like to change that. I have been using Linux as my mobile recording environment for a few years (Ubuntu Studio with a Tascam 122 Interface, Jack, and Ardour 2). I do many different styles, instruments and recording situations, but ...
