Bitwig 8-track is part of April 2024 Beat Magazine content
Also, issue 323 of ComputerMusicMagazine has that, so you can use their 'back issue' service to access the download version of that issue, or a hard-copy with dvd, if still available. The Bitwig effects section is handy, with drag & drop horizontal chains easy to test and save.. Combined with th...

Re: Status of WineASIO on AVL-MXE
I'm not sure, but I think wineasio needs a code maintainer to keep it up to date with current distros and latest wine releases. It is still useful, even important for a few cool softwares. But using an extra slightly older distro on an external drive isn't bad luck. Can also be helpful if one wants ...

Re: Professional Linux Audio Users, How Did You Do It?
I switched to Linux about 4 months ago and the last piece of the puzzle is settling my music production workflow. Any tips are welcome! EDIT, I'm really enjoying your music! Audio production is not a good religion, or a popular team sport. Those using it in those ways will miss much of the joy in c...

Re: The Elder Brothers - "Autumn" released!
Been busy de-stressing my work area and sleep cycles, minimizing cables, maximizing connected gear, and gathering music with potential to be heard on the streets. That George Benson interview was inspirational. Tough decisions ahead  Found an unused 500 gig drive, so have room for the next AVL...

Re: guitarix2-0.46.0 released
Some folks mentioned they have created 'Maximum Accuracy' NAM files, for the Marshal 'brown' sound...of which I am fully Sergeant Schultz. For those familiar, the 'complex' captures are 2480k, while the standard versions are 290k. Of the four in the archive, I only was able to use "Slammin_Plex...

Re: Arturia Midi Driver - has anybody got it working in WINE? (subject amended)
These steps might help using the keyboard without the arturia software: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/USB_MIDI_keyboards This topic here might also shed some light with screeshots and explanations. https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?t=20464 All that aside, for years I've used an Alesis QS8 ...

Re: The Elder Brothers - "Autumn" released!
In Hi-skrool, I had a friend who played a mean tenor sax, and we spent some fun hours, playing a simplified version of MoonDance, sessions went for as long as my rhythm-guitar arms would last, and his sax variations were motivating. I'd not be surprised if he runs some university music program, with...

Re: Guitarix.vst v0.3 Release
Click the + to open a new module. There is now Neural menu option, so use that to choose the desired version. You'll want separate folders to keep the downloaded .nam and .aidax gear separate, and use the gui's browser widgets to find your saved items. Some come with dozens of files, so subfolders w...

Re: Guitarix.vst v0.3 Release
Something tells me I'll be happily diving down one hell of a rabbit hole to check out all the goodies Guitarix offers, especially since I don't have a lot of pedals to smash yet. Hi, at ToneHunter, you can search by 'most popular'. I've found the items with 900+ downloads to be pretty good, and ext...

Re: Guitarix.vst v0.3 Release
The RTNeural dual mode works fine, and with two aida-x amps, cpu is still much lower in than a single .nam amp in the Neural section  8) Using the A/B blend and input/output levels makes it easy to dial in what you like best from two different amps. For fun, sent the RTNeural amps to slow dee...

Re: Neural Amp Modeler LV2 GUI
I used the provided vst3 download instead of compiling. In AVLinux, with xfce desktop, recent linux Reaper, and nVidia graphics card (pcie 9400 GT), with both nouveau, and official nVidia driver.
Cheers
(The windows NAM also worked via wine-staging and was wrapped by yabridge.)
Cheers
