Dev should rename it, "Jill" (as in Jack & Jill)
Such a missed opportunity!

Re: Carla on ARM

Assuming I've correctly understood your question-- there will be features here and there that Wine doesn't support, which will bug out some VSTs beyond usability, but it's hypothetically just as possible as running Windows VSTs in Linux on x86. Most of the Wine/VST bugs I have seen are UI-related, b...

Re: KXStudio project is currently on a break

FalkTX deserves a community award in recognition of his excellent work. If I could program my way out of a wet paper bag, I would help out.

Re: Connecting midi controller with less hassle?

Sure that makes sense. All I was saying is that if a user only wants to jam w/ Carla, they don't really need Cadence at all. It would seem to be a redundant step, at least for some situations. I just realized a minute ago that I don't even have Cadence installed on this partition. 8)

Re: Connecting midi controller with less hassle?

Sorry if I'm mistaken, but doesn't Carla automatically start the jack session at the program start? It's been a while since I've messed with Cadence, so maybe I misunderstand your situation. Is Cadence doing something Carla isn't, like provide a BPM or something with sinks/bridges? If not and provid...

Re: Firefox sound broken in last update

I have noticed some funny numerological coincidences in this portion of the thread. I somehow managed to mention 5G technology in my previous post and then Lyberta mentioned Firefox 57. Well if you changed the G in 5G to its number position in the alphabet; 5G would be 57. According to the Mozilla b...

Re: Firefox sound broken in last update

Sorry to dredge this up; Pale Moon is only temporary vaccination against soundsystemd-blastoma precancerous polypaudio. https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=15150&p=117137&hilit=pulseaudio#p117137 Pale Moon is little more than a snapshot of an old Firefox anyway. The level of '...

Re: Difference Between QJackCtl, Gladish, etc and how to configure? (total noob)

I'm no expert, but your observations seem to be about right. Sorry nobody else answered. Hopefully you've already figured most of this out, but I'll take a crack at it. Connections you make in the 'Connections' dialog will not be there next time you open QJackCtl; 'Patchbay' is used to save connecti...

Re: seq24 - how to connect to other apps?

I don't have an answer for this, but this adds to the fact that seq24 does not play well with jack/alsa/midi/etc.. I've never been able to get that program to show up in any patchbay. Routing all that crap through the drop-down menu is a nightmare. It's a shame, because it's otherwise a pretty cool ...

Re: MIDI-compatible Window Manager?

I'm not sure I'd expect there to be window management (needed) on a synth... but I might be old-fashioned in that :). Ah yes well, a bit of background information, to explain where I'm coming from with this: The frankensynth/fauxsynth I'm trying to put together has a 17" accusync, a bcr2000 an...

MIDI-compatible Window Manager?

Is there currently any way to use MIDI to control window management? Ideally, I'd like to be able to cycle through windows by turning a knob and have access to the usual minimize/restore, maximize, close functions, by pressing buttons/switches.. all using a typical controller; in my scenario, a BCR2...
